Swallowing Death
What Does the Bible Say about Grief and Loss?
I don’t feel adequate to address the topic of grief and loss, because I do know that standing on the precipice of this gulf of humanity if terrifying and reeking of despair. But it is also a place that God has promised to fill His children's hearts with comfort and peace, day by day.
Even Jesus Himself went through this this very human event, as he was "obedient to the point of death.”
I thought I would simply write a list of many things the Lord says about this very human experience. I encourage you to further study this topic and add to the list your own Scripture that the Lord shows you.

God of All Comfort
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
How Precious Are the Death of His Saints
Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his saints.
Psalm 116:15
Resting in One’s Labor
Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”
Revelation 14:13
Sitting With Jesus on the Throne
The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Revelation 3:21
Everlasting Joy
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return
and come to Zion with singing;
everlasting joy shall be upon their heads;
they shall obtain gladness and joy,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 51:11-12
No More Pain While Dwelling with God
Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
Revelation 21:3-4
Swallowing Death
He will swallow up death forever;
and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
and the reproach of his people he will take away
from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken.
It will be said on that day,
“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him,
that he might save us.
This is the Lord; we have waited for him;
let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
Isaiah 25:8-9
Revive Me
You who have made me see
many troubles and calamities
will revive me again;
from the depths of the earth
you will bring me up again.
You will increase my greatness
and comfort me again.
Psalm 71:20-21
Our Dear Ones Won’t Be Left in the Grave
For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-15
Lord, heal our broken hearts with your tender care.
